EDT 6203 : WEEK 3 (THE LEARNER HANDOUT)

We were given a handout to ponder over the weekend. Surprisingly understanding a learner is not that simple. Now I can see in a different light before I place my judge or put blame on a student differences towards learning.

There are so many characteristics that make up a "Learner" and his/her learning process.

1) The Nature of Learner Qualities
= this has to be innate/genetically and comes from their inner self.
= ID cannot have the aim of altering these qualities.
= resistant to change.
e.g. visual acuity, working memory capacity, speed of retrieving previously learned concept & efficiency of this process.

2) Qualities That Are Learned
= have critical effects upon learning.
     i) Intellectual Skills
    ii) Cognitive Strategies
   iii) Verbal Information
   iv) Attitudes
   v) Motor Skills
